Go to the Straight Talk website and enter your zip code. This will show you what phones are available for you to purchase in your calling area. Then read some reviews and watch some youtube videos about each phone that you like.

Not all Straight Talk phones are available for all calling areas. That is why researching the phones on your own is the best option.

  1. Various Straight Talk phones are on various networks (ATT, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile). My advice is to get one that’s on ATT or Verizon (because they have the biggest networks). To find out which Straight Talk phone is on which network, you’ll have to Google it. My wife has the ZTE Merit and it’s a fine budget smart phone. I would guess most of their smart phones are fine. I’m not sure I would buy the higher priced ($ 200+) Straight Talk phones. Why? Because for that much money you might be better off going with the Straight Talk Sim program and getting your own unlocked or ATT branded smart phone. I have an unlocked Pantech Burst, bought a Straight Talk micro sim card for $ 15 and couldn’t be happier. The Burst only cost $ 135 on ebay and it’s a MUCH MUCH nicer phone than the lower priced Straight Talk smart phones. It has a 4″ AMOLED display (beautiful), front and rear facing cameras, dual core 1.5 ghz processor and other high-end phone specs. Just a recommendation, because for the money you will not find a better phone. That being said, there are tons of other phones you can use with Straight Talk. You can even buy the new iPhone 5, sold specifically for Straight Talk at walmart.com (and I think in stores too).
