Next week we have a few new “AAA” releases on Xbox One, but there are still a few surprises here and there. Notably, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is finally launching on the console, and Onimusha: Warlords offers an interesting take on the popular genre. With that in mind, here are all the biggest games launching next week, between January 14 and January 18, 2019.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown continues the story from the third and fourth games in the series it seems. Players are tasked with taking out a new threat posted by an army of pilotless jets this time around.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown should launch on January 18, starting at $59.99.
2019’s Onimusha: Warlords is an upgraded version of the cult classic which launched all those years ago. It’s a proper samurai adventure through and through! This package includes the original game’s intense swordplay and dramatic revenge story, but improved controls, adds widescreen display support, and upgrades the soundtrack.
Onimusha: Warlords should launch on January 15, starting at $19.99.
The Grand Tour Game
The Grand Tour Game is just as wacky as the show. This title by Amazon Game Studios is referred to as an “episodic racing game” and will feature the same iconic locations, cars, and challenges from Season 3 of the show. Each week, a new episode of the show will premiere alongside an unlocked episode in the game. You’ll be able to drive the same roads, in the same car, hearing original voice acting from the stars of the show. This is definitely an interesting concept to say the least.
The Grand Tour Game should launch on January 15, priced at $14.99.
Guacamelee! is an incredibly popular game on Xbox One due to its bright visuals, stellar gameplay, and Mexican wrestling-themed world. Unfortunately, the sequel, Guacamelee! 2, was only available on PlayStation 4 and other platforms last year. Luckily, developer Drinkbox Studios recently announced that the title should launch on Xbox One very soon.
Alvastia Chronicles is another Japanese role-playing game from Kemco. After encountering the man who killed their parents ten years prior, Elmia and her brother Alan set out to avenge their deaths as they fight to stem the tide of monsters flooding into the upper world, and restore peace to Alvastia. However, in their quest to amass an army of diverse companions with the same goal, will they really be able to gain the strength necessary to bring their parents’ killer to justice, and save the world?
Alvastia Chronicles should launch on January 18, priced at $14.99. The game features Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Other experiences like Hell Warders, Planet RIX-13, Smoke and Sacrifice, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet – Dissonance of the Nexus, and The Walking Dead: The Final Season – Episode 3 should also release next week.
These are the biggest games launching soon, and many of them seem like absolutely thrilling experiences. Be sure to check out Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown and Onimusha: Warlords because they appear to be the most unique games out of the lot. Which titles are you interested in? Let us know.
